Over the last 10-20
years there has been a huge increase in the number of churches that have transitioned into a contemporary worship format.
For some it has been a wholesale change while for others it has been an addition to the existing church schedule. It has also
been both a place of contention and blessing, depending upon how it has been approached and managed. Having been through this
with numerous churches I believe I can provide insight and practical application including pitfalls to avoid.
Here are some areas in which we work:
A. Helping churches
transition into contemporary worship.
Whether
you are making a wholesale change from traditional worship or adding a new contemporary service to your schedule, we can help
you be successful. Let us help you evaluate your resources in view of your vision and develop an action
plan that considers many factors including church history, congregational makeup, denominational influence, traditional resistance,
and other considerations.
In all cases we recommend
the following:
1.
A seminar that emphasizes the importance and components of worship to bring understanding to the Body. This can be
a weekend or a series of meetings held on three consecutive nights. We provide printed handouts for the
church to duplicate for attendees as well as a Power Point presentation where video systems are already in place.
2. A workshop
with musicians and potential worship leaders that emphasizes the importance of being worshippers over and above musical talent.
This is a “roll up your sleeves” approach that is intended to encourage and teach as well as offer very practical
application.
B. Guiding churches
that have already established contemporary worship and helping to take them to the next level by identifying and tweaking
issues with worship teams, audio and video resource teams, equipment, and other factors.
C. Assisting churches with an established worship
ministry go deeper with additional teachings on intimacy in worship, the inclusion of other arts into the experience, and
increased spontaneity and reliance upon the Holy Spirit.
A
recent inclusion is the Harp and Bowl service that combines worship, intercession, and the prophetic work of the Holy Spirit.
Special training for Harp and Bowl is available to churches that are interested.

entitled The Priority Of Worship. It is basically my life message and always the starting place when I teach worship.
